Message from Fr. Martin Dzengeleski

Dear friends in Christ,

As our Lenten journey is coming to a close and we begin to focus on Holy Week, it is an appropriate time to assess our Lenten practices. At this time of Lent, many of us wish we had done a little more or a little better with our prayer, fasting and alms giving, the three pillars of Lent. Holy Week is a great time to make an extra effort to increase our Lenten practices. Confession is an important part of not just our Lenten journey but our Christian life in general. Participation in The Triduum is a great way to complete our Lenten journey and celebrate Easter.  It is important for us to reflect on our salvation history and all the Lord has done for us and why. Please join us for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter services. The Easter Vigil is the biggest celebration of the year.  Good Friday is a day of fasting for those who enjoy good health, one full meal or two partial meals equal to less than a full meal and of course no meat on Fridays during lent. With Easter comes spring, in fact the word Lent means spring. It is a time of new beginnings, new hope and new life. A perfect time to strive for a closer walk with the Lord henceforth. May this spring be a time of peace for our world and an end to war, oppression, persecution, and violence of any kind. We must never underestimate the power of our prayers to help bring about peace in our troubled world. Thank you for your ongoing support of our parish. Please pray for me and for our parish.

    A few words from the second letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians (4:7-15) (from the feast of St.            James the Apostle) I find  very inspiring and well worth reflecting upon:

Brothers and sisters:
We hold this treasure in earthen vessels,
that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.
We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained;
perplexed, but not driven to despair;
persecuted, but not abandoned;
struck down, but not destroyed;
always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus,
so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body.
For we who live are constantly being given up to death
for the sake of Jesus,
so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

So death is at work in us, but life in you.
Since, then, we have the same spirit of faith,
according to what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke,
we too believe and therefore speak,
knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus
will raise us also with Jesus
and place us with you in his presence.
Everything indeed is for you,
so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people
may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God.

Medjugorje Messages:

Annual Apparition to Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo March 18, 2024   The visionary Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo had daily apparitions from June 24th 1981 to December 25th 1982. During the last daily apparition, Our Lady gave her the 10th secret, and told her that she would appear to her once a year, on the 18th of March. It has been this way through the years. The apparition lasted from 13:23 to 13:27.

"Dear children, by the merciful love of God, I am with you. That is why, as a mother, I am calling you to believe in love - the love that is union with my Son. With love you help others to open their hearts to come to know my Son and to come to love Him. My children, love makes it for my Son to illuminate your hearts with His grace,  to grow in you and to give you peace. "Dear children! I am carrying my Son Jesus to you to fill your hearts with peace, because He is peace. Little children, seek Jesus in the silence of your heart that He be born anew. The world needs Jesus, therefore seek Him through prayer, because He gives Himself daily to each of you." Today Our Lady came solemnly dressed with little Jesus in her arms. Jesus extended His hand in a sign of blessing as Our Lady prayed over us in Aramaic.

"Dear children! Today I am carrying my Son Jesus to you, that you may be His peace and a reflection of clarity and joy of Heaven. Pray, little children, to be open to receive peace because many hearts are closed to the call of the light, which changes hearts. I am with you and am praying for you to open yourselves to receive the King of peace, Who fills your hearts with warmth and blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call."
This month, we are especially blessed to also share the annual message from Our Lady to Jakov Colo. At the last daily apparition to Jakov Colo on September 12th, 1998, Our Lady told him that henceforth he would have one apparition a year, every December 25th, on Christmas Day.

"Today, when the light of Jesus' birth is illuminating the entire world, in a special way, with Jesus in my arms, I am praying that every heart becomes a stable of Bethlehem, in which my Son will be born, so that your lives become a light of His birth. Little children, you live in peacelessness and fear. That is why, little children, today, on this day of grace, implore Jesus to strengthen your faith and to  become the ruler of your lives; because, my children,  only with Jesus in your lives will you not be looking at peacelessness but praying for peace and will live in peace; and you will not be looking at fear, but at Jesus Who frees us of all fears. I am your Mother who ceaselessly keeps vigil over you and I am blessing you with my Motherly blessing."

Here is the message that Our Lady of Medjugorje gave  October 25th 2022 through Marija:
“Dear children! The Most High permits me to be with you, and to be joy for you and the way in hope, because mankind has decided for death. That is why He sent me to keep instructing  you that without God you do not have a future. Little children,  be instruments of love for all those who have not come to know the God of love. Witness joyfully your faith and do not lose hope in a change of the human heart. I am with you and am blessing you with my motherly blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”
Here is the message that Our Lady of Medjugorje gave 
September 25th 2022 through Marija:
“Dear children! Pray that the Holy Spirit may enlighten you that you be joyful seekers of God and witnesses of love without bounds. I am with you, little children, and, anew, I am calling all of you: take courage and bear witness to the good works that God is doing in and through you. Be joyful in God. Do good to your neighbor so that it will be good for you on earth and pray for peace, which is threatened because Satan wants war and peacelessness. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”

August 25, 2022 through Marija:
“Dear children! God permits me to be with you and to lead you on the way of peace, so that through personal peace, you build peace in the world. I am with you and intercede for you before my Son Jesus, that He may give you a strong faith and hope in a better future, which I desire to build up with you. You be courageous and do not be afraid, because God is with you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (August 25, 2022)
Our Lady of Medjugorje  message:

“Dear children! I am with you to lead you on the way of conversion, because, little children, with your lives you can draw many souls closer to my Son. You be joyful witnesses of God's word and love, and with hope in the heart which conquers every evil. Forgive those who inflict evil on you, and go on the way of holiness. I am leading you to my Son, for Him to be the way, the truth and the life for you. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”
